Physical Geography is the study of the
Earth's surface and near-surface environment, including the oceans, the
atmosphere and the land surface. It is a part both of the Earth Sciences,
alongside subjects such as Geology, and of Geography, with its explicit
focus on the spatial distributions of phenomena and its concern with the
clues that spatial evidence can provide to help answer questions about
the Earth's surface and environmental systems. It is therefore defined both by its subject matter and by its approach. |
